Shrimp & Sausage Stir-Fry
Ingredients
13 oz sausage or polska kielbasa, sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
2 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp avocado oil
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Shrimp seasoning (garlic powder, ground ginger, smoked paprika)
1 tbsp ginger paste or fresh minced ginger
12 oz broccoli (frozen or fresh)
3 tbsp oyster sauce
4 tbsp hoisin sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup chicken broth
¼ cup brown sugar
Crushed red pepper to taste
White pepper to taste
Cornstarch slurry (2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water)
Directions
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add avocado oil and cook the sliced sausage until browned and crispy on the edges. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add a little more avocado oil if needed. Season the shrimp with your shrimp seasoning and cook for about 1 minute on each side until just starting to turn pink. Remove and set aside.
To the skillet, add sliced bell pepper, minced garlic, and ginger paste. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add broccoli (frozen or fresh) to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until slightly tender.
Return the cooked sausage to the skillet, stirring to combine. Continue stir-frying until the broccoli is soft.
Pour in oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, chicken broth, and sprinkle in the brown sugar. Stir well.
Add the cornstarch slurry gradually, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Return the shrimp to the skillet, mixing everything together. Cook for another minute until the shrimp are heated through.
Serve hot over white rice or your favorite grain.
